CRITICAL PATH METHOD

The more and more contractor companies are emerging and developing resulting in competition amongthe companies to get the project. This encourages each company to further increase the potential of its resources so that the company can survive in the competition. One of the things in the competition is competing in terms of time and cost of employers’s productivity. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the completion time of construction projects of TPST 3R constructionso that the cost can be minimized from the original cost budget plan. This study uses a network planning analysis with CPM (Critical Path Method) method. It is the path that has a series of activity components with the longest total number of times and shows the fastest project completion time. Thus, the critical path consists of a series of critical activities, starting from the first activity to the final project activity. This method is expected to be used to control the coordination of various activities in a job so that the project can be completed in a timely manner and can also assist the company in planning and controlling projects with time and cost more efficiently. This study produced a critical path with 10 activities. The calculation result with CPM method takes 61 days with cost Rp.58.147.000, whereas the calculation that done with normal time needs70 days with cost Rp. 53.272.000. Based on the CPM, it saves 9 days project completion time.
